Alpha Sigma Phi 52nd National Founding Anniversary
52 YEARS OF EXISTENCE IN THE PHILIPPINES. HAIL ALPHA SIGMA PHI!
HAPPY NATIONAL FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY!
"Before this candle light brightens my sight to see the truth and the right from wrong...
My Blood becomes an Alphans Blood!!"
As I've entered the world of the Mystic Circle "I've learned to mold my own self"
Way back Jul 2005, I was a freshmen in a University ( Notre Dame of Marbel University) when I decided to join the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity and sorority. I was the youngest in my batch. Our process took a very long time it was 8 months of processing. 8 months of wearing the pledge pin inside the campus. But then it was great. Wearing that pledge pin of Alpha Sigma Phi didn't make me embarrased infact it makes my chin up. Being a pledge of Alpha Sigma Phi is not so easy. But you need to fight in order you to survive. Quitting? I've never think of it. A winners never quit!!
Out of 14 rushee's only 6 of us remain. See? It's not that easy, you need to pass the ring of fire to be one of us!
Alphans is a LEADER! We aim to share our thoughts, knowledge and wisdom. For we an Alpha Sig's a Gentlemen and Scholar.
Be a good influence to everybody. Everybody can lead. Everybody can speak! It's not all about the pain that we've been through during the process but it's all about the essence of a true brotherhood and sisterhood.
Let's keep the old Gal Rise. Keep the history and keep on burning PHOENIX!

The truth behind OFW's
The truth behind OFW's
I've been in the Philippine Embassy yesterday to get my new passport. I've met a girl who'd just escape from her employer. Let's just call her in a name "Becky".
She's wearing a helper uniform, I asked her,why you're here? I escaped in my employer.
Why?
Because they accused me of something. I told them that i can't do that kind of things, I have my family in the Philippines and I'm always thinking of them. They said that they'll take me in the police station. That's the reason why i decided to escape on their house.
So how did you escaped? I asked again.
Becky said, when they went all to their work, I put all my my important stuff on a plastic bag including my papers, ATM, and a pair of shirts and pants. I left all my things there except of this plastic bag. I can't go out cause they locked me up inside the house. What I did is I wait for them to come. I put the plastic bag with my things on it in a huge garbage bag then i fill it with trash so that they won't know that i have my things inside. Then when one of them come i quickly get the garbage bag to throw outside. They don't know my plan, they left the key on the door. I suddenly open the door and run outside with a huge garbage bag. I run so fast, fast and fast reaching the highway to look for a taxi. I run with a huge garbage bag on my hand. I keep on praying that I can find a taxi as soon as possible. God is really great that when i reached the highway i found a taxi. The taxi driver don't know how to speak english that much and I can't understand arabic too. But I try my best for him to understand me. Marhaba ( hi ) please take me to the Philippine Embassy,Ishh? (what) the driver replied. Philippine Embassy! I don't know the address of the embassy please help me. I still have the garbage bag on me till i've reached the embassy. Finally i came safe! A big thank's to the taxi driver and especially to God that I arrived safely to the embassy. .
That was base on a true to life story. One of the Filipina that I've encountered when I was in Jordan.
Working outside the country is not so easy. You need to risk your life and sacrifice everything. This story happens to all OFW not only in a Domestic Helper but in all types of work here in abroad.
You must be strong enough in order to survive. Don't forget to ask help in our God. Cause God is always there to guide us and lift us up!
